The Swift Current Legionnaires were thumped 7-2 tonight by the hometown Tisdale Trojans at Tisdale RecPlex.
The Trojans opened a 5-0 lead in the first period, jumping all over the Swift Current squad. The Legionnaires replied with goals of their own in the second and third period but they were quickly answered each time and Tisdale took the win with relative ease. Austin Connor and Dayton Reinboldt scored for the road team. Tisdale was 3 for 8 on the power play, while Swift Current was 1 for 9. The Legionnaires got out-shot 42-19. Their team defense was weak to start the game and they generated virtually no offense.
G Lukas MacDonald was chased from the nets after allowing the first four goals. He was replaced by Kyler Beckett, who joined the team today in Melfort. Beckett made a few phenomenal saves on the Trojans' top guns and had a stellar outing in his first game as a Legionnaire.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow at 2 PM. (Legionnaires Broadcast Network...pregame at 1:50 PM)

I was unable to watch any of the Bronco game in Edmonton. But according to the lopsided shot total the Broncos were only in a shootout tonight due to a great performance by Oil Kings G Torrie Jung.
In any case, they managed to win another shootout and go 2-0 on the weekend.
No matter how bad the Oil Kings struggle, they have always given the Broncos a run for their money.
Tomorrow is the WHL trade deadline. Nothing has happened around the league so far. Any thoughts?

The Kabos Bantam Raiders won the semifinal 6-2 tonight at the Greater Saskatoon Bantam Invitational. They'll play the Saskatoon Generals tomorrow in the tournament final at 2:30 PM. The game will be played at Credit Union Centre.

I am not happy that I'll miss tomorrow's Olympic Torch celebration in Swift Current. The weather will be beautiful. Please cheer for me too if you're attending.

It's time for bed here in Tisdale.
Ciao.
