- Hi. I'm Ernie Waldner...administrator of the blog you're viewing, Waldner's World. I grew up on a farm in Southwest Saskatchewan near the small town of Cabri SK. I've always loved sports of any kind...but mainly hockey. I've forever seen watching hockey as the best winter pastime that one could possibly wish for. My love for this game and aspirations that came with it eventually took me away from home at the tender age of 16. Since then, I've gotten quite involved in the announcing field of sports here in Swift Current. Starting as public address announcer and music host for the “PeeWee” Broncos in 2007, I was called upon to do the same job for the Midget 'AAA' Legionnaires last season. During this last summer, I did the in-stand promotions for the Western Major Baseball League's Swift Current Indians. Currently, I'm doing the public address announcing/music for the Legionnaires' home games for another year, as well as live play-by-play on the road. The latter of the two was bestowed upon me at the start of the '09-2010 season. I'm tremendously greatful for the opportunity, and hope to bring my listeners and readers the best material possible.
